“English Week”活动计划

为了营造学校学习英语的氛围，鼓励学生多听英语，多看英语，多用英语，提高学习英语的兴趣，开展此次为期一周的“English Week”活动。 并结合学校的“伟人教育“，将思想道德建设融入到此次活动中去。

1、“Great Man in our eyes” 海报评比：

2、“Film freaks”英语电影片名竞猜及欣赏：

3、“English Day”英语角特别活动。

4、“Sing YourVoice”（“唱出你的声音”）英语歌曲演唱比赛。

    高一组评委：高二实习生

l         活动规则：

Ø         积分制：各班在参与各项活动中都可得到积分，最终积分最高的班级将得到spalding篮球一个。

Ø         获得积分的途径：

Ø         每班上交海报将各获得5分。最终视评奖结果累加积分。一等奖可获得20分，二等奖可获得15分。三等奖可获得10分。

Ø         参与海报评选投票可获得1分。

Ø         参与猜电影片名。凡参与者得1分，答对者可累加1分。

Ø         参与英语角活动，答对灯谜得1分，猜歌答对得1分。

Ø         参与唱歌比赛，凡个人参与得5分，团体可得8分。获奖累加积分，一等奖20分，二等奖15分，三等奖10分。

    每天将公布各班的积分情况。

利用学校电台，电视台，海报，以及英语小报。

Something I Couldn't See---Losing Ally

One Saturday, I was at the grocery store when I saw a classmate named Mollisa. She pulled me aside and whispered, “Is Ally OK? From last night, my heart was pounding."

"What happened last night?"

"You don't know?!"

"No." I said “I don't know."

"Well, I guess there was a party. And everyone was drinking. Ally fell down the steps and cut her forehead. I heard she had to get stitches. "Mollisa squinted at me,” I can't believe you don't know this." My mind was full of questions.” How had I not know about this?” “Had I not been invited to other parties.” “Since when had Ally been a drinker?"

When I called Ally, she sounded defensive. "It wasn't a party" she said, “it was just a few people, and I didn't have to get stitches." "Do your parents know? Something really bad could have happened." I said. "But it didn't" she replied, “so chill out!" That was the moment. Those were the words. “So chill out!” That made me know for certain that things between us had changed. And sure enough Ally soon made some excuse to get off the phone.

I had lost her. I still saw Ally in class, but whenever I glance over at her, her gaze was averted.

l         defensive: protecting oneself, defending oneself, afraid of being criticized

l         chill out: calm down. Don’t be nervous. (informal, used among friends.)

l         stitch: Danny cut his leg in a bike accident, and had to get 6 stitches.

l         squint: Sarah squinted in the bright sunlight.

l         defensive: You don't need to be defensive. I am not trying to attack you.

l         chill out: chill out! There is no need to get so excited.

l         avert: During the movies' scary scene, I averted my eyes.
